Following the Makambako Town Council receiving a permit for Replacement Employment with Ref. No. FA.228/613/01/B/040 dated 15/03/2024 for the positions of Street Executive Officer Grade III and Driver Grade II from the Secretary General Office of the President, Public Service Management and Good Governance regarding new employment, the Director of Makambako Town Council announces job vacancies and invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the positions listed in this announcement:
1. STREET EXECUTIVE OFFICER III – TWO (2) POSITIONS
APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS Employed individuals with a Form Four/Six education who have completed a Certificate (NTA LEVEL 5) in one of the following fields: Administration, Law, Social Education, Financial Management, Community Development, and Art Science from the Local Government Institute Hombolo or any other recognized institution by the Government.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE STREET EXECUTIVE OFFICER
i. Secretary of the Street Committee ii. Chief Executive of the Street iii. Coordinator of the implementation of policies and laws implemented by the Council in the Street. iv. Advisor to the Street Committee on development plans in the Street v. Supervisor of the implementation of by-laws and other laws applicable in the Street.
vi. Advisor to the Street Committee on security and safety issues vii. Supervisor of various strategies related to the elimination of hunger and poverty in the Street.viii. Supervising the collection of Council revenues and keeping records of all taxpayers ix. Preparing and maintaining a register of all residents of the Street x. Will be accountable to the Ward Executive Officer.
SALARY In accordance with government salary scales TGS B1 per month.
2. DRIVER II – ONE (1) POSITION
APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS Employed individuals with a Form Four certificate and a valid driving license Class C or E, who have worked for at least one year without causing any accidents. Must have attended basic driving training offered by VETA or NIT or any other recognized institution by the Government.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF DRIVER II
i. Inspecting the vehicle before and after a trip to identify the vehicle’s safety condition ii. Transporting staff to various locations for official trips iii. Performing minor vehicle repairs iv. Collecting and distributing various documents v. Filling out and maintaining travel records in the travel logbook vi. Cleaning the vehicle
SALARY In accordance with government salary scales TGS B1 per month.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged 18 to 45 years, except those currently employed by the Government; ii. Applicants who studied abroad should ensure their certificates are verified and certified by relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE); ix. Applicants who have been retired from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary;
x. Job applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions in the Public Service should not apply and must adhere to the instructions in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010; xi.
