Job Title: Project Assistants – Disability Inclusive Ultra-Poor Graduation
Job Location: Dodoma, Singida
Purpose: To implement various project components in the field, provide hands-on coaching to participants to enhance their technical and soft skills, and deliver services to help participants achieve sustainable graduation, meeting the project’s overall objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Select project participants according to guidelines and assist them in choosing appropriate income-generating activities.
- Provide enterprise development training, purchase and distribute assets and allowances, and inclusive inputs as per project guidelines.
- Promote participant savings through VSLA meetings.
- Offer hands-on coaching through home visits to build technical skills, plan for the future, and enhance soft skills to help participants escape extreme poverty.
- Conduct awareness sessions on health, hygiene, and social issues to boost participants’ confidence.
- Identify health needs of participants and their families to ensure healthcare services are provided according to project guidelines.
- Continuously monitor and analyze participants’ progress towards graduating from extreme poverty.
- Develop and share regular MIS, narrative, and asset growth reports.
- Participate in the local procurement of livestock assets for participants.
- Adhere to safeguarding policies, report any incidents, and encourage others to do the same.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
- Understand, practice, promote, and endorse safeguarding policies among team members, ensuring implementation in all actions.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure and encourage others to report any incidents.
Educational Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Humanitarian Studies, Agriculture, Business Administration
Skills and Competencies:
- Analytical skills
- Good communication and facilitation skills with stakeholders
- Problem-solving skills
- Documentation and reporting skills
Experience Requirements:
- Community mobilization in livelihood/disability-inclusive projects
- Understanding of poverty dynamics, community contexts, and cultural diversity
- Sensitivity to gender and disability issues
