The Executive Director of the Shinyanga District Council has received approval for new employment from the Chief Secretary of the President’s Office for Public Service Management and Good Governance via a letter with Ref. No. FA.97/228/01/09 dated 25.06.2024. Therefore, applications are invited from qualified Tanzanians to fill the following positions:
1.VILLAGE EXECUTIVE OFFICER GRADE III – TWENTY (20) POSITIONS
Applicants must have completed Form IV or Form VI and hold a certificate/diploma in one of the following fields: Administration, Law, Social Education, Financial Management, Community Development, and Arts Sciences from the Local Government Institute Hombolo or any recognized institution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Chief Executive and Head of the Village Government;
- Oversee the safety and security of citizens and their property, act as a peacekeeper and supervisor of good governance in the Village;
- Coordinate and oversee the planning of village development plans;
- Secretary of meetings and committees of the village council;
- Interpret and supervise policies, laws, and regulations;
- Prepare work implementation reports in the area and mobilize citizens in preparing and implementing strategies to eradicate hunger, poverty, and increase production;
- Leader of technical unit heads in the village;
- Oversee, collect, and maintain all village records and documents;
- Chair the meeting of experts present in the village;
- Receive, hear, and resolve citizens’ complaints and disputes;
- Supervise the drafting of village bylaws; and
- Report to the Ward Executive Officer.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the employer.
SALARY: According to the Government salary scale TGS B.
2. DRIVER GRADE II (03 POSITIONS)
Must have completed Form IV or Form VI education, hold a C or E class driving license, and have worked for at least one year without causing an accident. Must have attended basic driving training from VETA or NIT or any government-recognized institution.
Responsibilities
- Inspect the vehicle before and after a journey to ascertain its safety;
- Transport employees on official duties;
- Perform minor vehicle repairs;
- Collect and distribute various documents;
- Record all trips in the travel logbook; and
- Clean the vehicle.
SALARY: According to the Government salary scale TGS B.
3. RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II (02 POSITIONS)
Must have completed Form IV or Form VI education and hold a Diploma (NTA level 6) in Records Management from recognized institutions, with computer skills.
Responsibilities
- Register incoming mail in the correspondence register;
- Register outgoing mail in the outgoing correspondence register;
- Distribute files to officers;
- Receive files from officers;
- Return files to the shelves or filing cabinets;
- Monitor the movement of files within the institution (file tracking).
SALARY: According to the Government salary scale TGS C.
4. OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY II (02 POSITIONS)
Must have passed Form IV or Form VI and hold a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or an NTA level 6 certificate. Must have passed shorthand in Kiswahili and English at 100 words per minute and be proficient in office computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Publisher from any government-recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Type letters, reports, and documents;
- Receive guests and address their concerns;
- Keep records of events, appointments, meeting dates, trips of the supervisor, and other work schedules;
- Locate required files and documents for task execution;
- Receive and distribute files within the division/unit/section;
- Collect, maintain, and return files and documents to relevant places;
- Prepare notes and make arrangements for various meetings;
- Prepare a list of office supply requirements.
SALARY: According to the Government salary scale TGS C.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
