Tanganyika Christian Refugee Service (TCRS) Internship
Tanganyika Christian Refugee Service (TCRS) was initially the Field Program of the Lutheran World Federation Department for World Service (LWF/DWS), engaging in humanitarian, relief, and development activities with refugees and marginalized poor people in Tanzania. In 2006, TCRS was localized and registered as a Local NGO in Tanzania.
Position Overview:
TCRS invites applications from suitably qualified and competent Tanzanian candidates to fill the post of Assistant Program Officer – Intern at TCRS Head Office, Dar es Salaam.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify potential new partners for TCRS through research and offer an appraisal of their areas of expertise, reach, resources, and standing.
- Encourage greater public knowledge of TCRS’s mission and objectives by arranging events and distributing information.
- Plan advocacy, information-sharing, PR, and marketing campaigns. Organize the logistics for these occasions.
- To raise TCRS’s visibility and safeguard its interests, participate in meetings with NGOs, the government, donors, and the commercial sector. Take notes, distribute information, and assist with information campaigns.
- Organize your picture library and information database.
- Oversee the production of material for social media.
- Create and put into action plans to broaden and enhance public engagement.
- Create marketing collateral for the initiatives.
- Create reports on communications.
Qualifications:
- Recent graduate with a Degree in Social Science, Community Development, Project Management, Journalism, or Social Work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good command of English and Kiswahili (speaking and writing).
- Computer literate.
