Tandahimba District Council, through the replacement employment permits No. FA. 228/613/01/C/032 dated May 21, 2024, and new employment permits No. FA. 97/288/01/09 dated June 25, 2024, announces job vacancies for the positions listed below. These positions are authorized by the Secretary-General of the President’s Office, Public Service Management, and Good Governance.

Job Positions

1. Records Assistant II – 5 Positions

Applicant Qualifications:

  • Must have completed secondary education (Form IV or VI).
  • Must hold a diploma (NTA Level 6) in Records Management from recognized institutions.
  • Must have computer skills.

Duties:

  • Register incoming letters in the registry.
  • Register outgoing letters from the institution in the registry.
  • Distribute files to staff.
  • Receive files returning to the registry from staff.
  • Locate records/documents/files needed by staff.
  • Return files to shelves/cabinets or other storage places.
  • Follow up on the circulation of files within the institution.

Salary Scale:

  • According to the Government Salary Scale – TGS C1 per month.

2. Village Executive Officer III – 21 Positions

Professional Qualifications:

  • Must have completed secondary education (Form IV or VI). Must hold a certificate (NTA Level 5) in fields such as Administration, Law, Social Education, Financial Management, Community Development, and Arts Science from the Local Government Training Institute Hombolo or other recognized institutions.
Duties:

Serve as the accounting officer and chief executive of the village government. Oversee the security and safety of citizens and their properties. Act as a peace officer and supervisor of good governance in the village. Coordinate and supervise the planning and implementation of village development plans.

Serve as the secretary of all village council meetings and committees. Interpret and enforce policies, laws, and regulations. Prepare work reports in the area of responsibility. Mobilize citizens in planning and implementing strategies to eliminate hunger, poverty, and increase productivity.

Lead the heads of professional units in the village. Oversee, collect, and maintain all village records and documents. Chair meetings of experts in the village. Oversee the drafting of village bylaws. Receive, listen to, and resolve citizen complaints and disputes. Report to the Ward Executive Officer.

Salary Scale:

  • According to the Government Salary Scale – TGS B1 per month.

3. Driver Grade II – 2 Positions

Applicant Qualifications:

  • Must have completed secondary education (Form IV).
  • Must hold a driving license class C or E.
  • Must have worked for at least one year without causing an accident.
  • Must have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA, NIT, or other recognized institutions.

Duties:

  • Inspect the vehicle before and after a trip to identify the safety condition of the vehicle.
  • Transport staff to various locations for official duties.
  • Perform minor vehicle repairs.
  • Collect and distribute various documents.
  • Record and maintain travel information in the logbook.
  • Clean the vehicle.

Salary Scale:

  • According to the Government Salary Scale – TGS B1 per month.

General Conditions for Job Applicants

  1. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45, except for those already employed in the government.

  4. Applicants who are already public servants and have gained qualifications for entry positions different from their current ones must submit their application letters through their employers who should verify their qualifications.
  5. All applications must be accompanied by certified copies of educational and professional certificates, including Form IV and VI certificates, postgraduate/degree/advanced diploma/diploma/certificates, computer certificates, and professional certificates from respective boards.
  6. Testimonials, provisional results, statement of results, Form IV and VI result slips will not be accepted.
  7. Applicants who studied abroad must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
  8. Applicants already employed in entry positions in public service should not apply and must adhere to the directives in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010.
  9. Submission of false information and qualifications will result in legal action.
  10. The deadline for submitting applications is July 18, 2024.
