The Director of Ubungo MC has received approval for new job openings from the Secretary General OR – Utumishi, referenced as FA. 97/288/01/09 dated 25th June 2024. Applications are invited from qualified Tanzanians for the following positions:

1. OFFICE ASSISTANT GRADE II – 1 POSITION

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Typing letters, reports, and both ordinary and confidential documents.
  • Welcoming visitors, inquiring about their issues, and directing them to appropriate places for assistance.
  • Maintaining records and logs of events, appointments, visitors, meeting dates, the supervisor’s travel, and other work schedules.
  • Retrieving files and documents necessary for job execution.
  • Receiving files and distributing them to officers in relevant departments/units/sections.
  • Collecting, maintaining, and returning files and documents to relevant sections.
  • Compiling extracts and preparing for various meetings.
  • Compiling office equipment needs list.
  • Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.

APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have passed Form IV or Form VI with a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies.
  • Proficiency in shorthand in Swahili and English (100 words per minute).
  • Proficient in office computer programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Publisher from any government-recognized institution.

SALARY SCALE: According to Government Salary Scale – TGS C.

2. WARD EXECUTIVE GRADE III – 25 POSITIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES OF WARD EXECUTIVE GRADE III:

  • Secretary of Ward Committee.
  • Chief Executive Officer of the Ward.
  • Coordinator for implementation of Council policies and laws in the Ward.
  • Advisor to the Ward Committee on development plans in the Ward.
  • Supervisor for implementation of local bylaws and other applicable laws in the Ward.
  • Advisor to the Ward Committee on security matters.
  • Supervisor for various strategies related to hunger and poverty alleviation in the Ward.
  • Managing Halmashauri revenue collection and maintaining records of all taxpayers.
  • Compiling and maintaining a register of all Ward residents.
  • Accountable to the Ward Executive Officer.
  • Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.

APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have completed Form IV or Form VI and attained a Certificate (NTA Level 5) in Administration, Law, Social Education, Financial Management, Social Development, or Social Sciences from any government-recognized institution.

SALARY SCALE: According to Government Salary Scale – TGS B.

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS:

Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years old. Attach a copy of their birth certificate. Include current address, phone number, accompanied by copies of academic certificates. Copies of certificates validated by a lawyer including Form IV and other training certificates. Comprehensive personal information (Detailed CV) with addresses, phone numbers, and names of three reliable referees.

Two (2) recent “Passport Size” photos. National ID or National ID number (NIDA). Applicants with a criminal record will not be considered. “Testimonies”, “Provisional Result”, “Statement of results” Form IV and FORM VI RESULT SLIPS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Applicants who have studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE). Applicants who have been retired/dismissed from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary. Submission of forged information and qualifications will lead to legal action.

Applicants with qualifications exceeding those stated above will not be considered. The deadline for submitting applications is 24th July 2024.
