The Executive Director of the Mkinga District Council has received approval for new employment for the fiscal year 2023/2024 from the Chief Secretary of the President’s Office for Public Service Management and Good Governance, reference number FA.97/288/01/09 dated 25/06/2024. Therefore, all qualified Tanzanians are invited to apply for the following positions:

1. DRIVER II – 05 POSITIONS

DUTIES OF DRIVER II Inspect the vehicle before and after a trip to identify its safety condition. Transport staff to various locations for work purposes. Perform minor vehicle maintenance. Keep and record travel logbooks for all trips. Collect and distribute various documents. Clean the vehicle. Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICANT

  • Must have completed Form Four (IV) education and obtained a Form Four (IV) Certificate.
  • Must have a Class ‘C’ or ‘E’ driving license and at least one year of driving experience without causing an accident.
  • Must have attended Basic Driving Course training provided by the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) or another recognized institution.

SALARY SCALE: According to the Government Salary Scale TGS – B

1. OFFICE OPERATOR II – 02 POSITIONS

Duties and Responsibilities Typing letters, reports, and confidential documents. Receiving visitors and listening to their concerns and directing them to where they can get assistance. Keeping records of events, appointments, meeting dates, trips of the Head, and other work schedules. Searching for files and documents needed for job execution.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICANT

  • Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education and obtained a Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) Certificate.
  • Must have a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or NTA level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies from recognized institutions.
  • Must have passed shorthand in Kiswahili and English at 100 words per minute.
  • Must have received training in office computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher.

SALARY SCALE: According to the Government Salary Scale TGS – C

1. RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II – 03 POSITIONS

DUTIES OF RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II Registering incoming letters in the Incoming Correspondence Register. Registering outgoing letters in the Outgoing Correspondence Register. Distributing files to officers (Action Officers). Receiving returned files from officers. Searching for records/documents or files needed by officers. Returning files to racks/filling cabinets or other storage places. Tracking the circulation of files within and outside the Institution (File tracking).

QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICANT

Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education and obtained a Diploma (NTA level 6) in Records Management from recognized institutions, with computer skills.

SALARY SCALE: According to the Government Salary Scale TGS – C

1.VILLAGE EXECUTIVE GRADE III – 02 POSITIONS

DUTIES Main Accountable Officer and Chief Executive of the village government. Supervise the security and safety of citizens and their property, maintain peace and good governance in the village. Coordinate and oversee village development planning. secretary of all village council meetings and committees. Interpret and enforce policies, laws, and procedures.

Prepare work implementation reports and mobilize citizens to prepare and implement strategies to eliminate hunger, poverty, and increase production. Leader of village technical units. Supervise, collect, and store all village records and documents. Chair of the village technical committee. Receive, listen to, and resolve citizens’ complaints and disputes. Oversee the drafting of village by-laws.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICANT

Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education and obtained a Certificate in one of the following fields: Administration, Law, Community Education, Financial Management, Community Development, and Social Sciences from the Local Government Training Institute or any other recognized institution.

SALARY SCALE: According to the Government Salary Scale TGS – B

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICANTS

All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years, except for those already in government employment. Disabled applicants are encouraged to apply and must specify their disability in the recruitment system for notification to the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat. All applicants must attach a comprehensive personal statement (Detailed Curriculum Vitae) with a working address, reachable phone numbers, and an email address, along with names of three reputable referees.

Applicants already in Public Service who have acquired qualifications for entry into different cadres should route their applications through their current employers who should satisfy themselves accordingly. All applicants must attach certified copies of their academic and professional certificates by a lawyer/advocate. These include Form Four and Six Certificates, various training completion certificates, Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificates, Form IV and VI examination certificates, Computer Certificates, and Professional Certificates from respective Boards.

Applicants currently employed in entry positions in Public Service should not apply and must adhere to Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.
