The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is pleased to announce to the general public that the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) is offering a fully funded scholarship to study a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine in Ain Shams University for five (5) years. Suitable and qualified Tanzanian scholars are invited to apply for the 2024/2025 Academic Year. Studies are expected to commence in October 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Must have completed high school/ ACSEE with a minimum pass of Division II.
- Should not be older than 20 years of age.
- Must possess an excellent command of the English language and provide proof of English proficiency.
- Should concede, along with their guardian, the readiness to continue the full duration of the study for 5 years in Egypt.
List of Documents to be Submitted
Applicants must include the following documents listed below in two copies:
- Original high school/ ACSEE certificate certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- A valid passport for the duration of the program, with copies of the passport to be provided to the Embassy of Egypt in Dar es Salaam along with 6 passport-size photos (4×6 cm).
- English Language proficiency certificate.
- A medical report attesting to the applicant’s health status and confirming they are free from any contagious or infectious diseases. Applicants are advised to bring their own malaria medications due to the unavailability of malaria medication in Egypt.
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship, fully covered by EAPD, includes:
- Full tuition fees.
- Flight tickets.
- Accommodation at the university dormitories.
- Monthly per diem.
- Study notes and materials.
- Reception at the airport and residence permits.
Mode of Application
- Submit a typed application letter with a recent passport photograph attached. The application should indicate age, sex, course, home district, telephone contact, and email address. Attach all supporting documents as listed above.
- The application should be submitted in hard or soft copy to reach the undersigned not later than 5th August 2024.
NB: There is no loan or grant from the Government of Tanzania for candidates who will be offered this scholarship.
