The Executive Director of Bahi District Council has received approval for new employment in the fiscal year 2023/2024 through a letter from the Secretary-General, President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance. Consequently, the following job vacancies are announced for all qualified and interested Tanzanians in Bahi District Council:
1. Village Executive Officer Grade III – 08 Positions
Responsibilities:
- Chief Executive of the Village Government
- Secretary of the Village Committee
- Coordinator of policy and law implementation by the Council in the Village
- Advisor to the Village Committee on Development Plans
- Supervisor of local by-laws and other applicable laws in the Village
- Advisor to the Village Committee on security matters
- Supervisor of strategies for eradicating hunger and poverty in the Village
- Supervising the collection of Council revenues and maintaining taxpayer records
- Accountable to the Ward Executive Officer
Qualifications:
- Completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education
- Certificate in Law, Social Education, Financial Management, Community Development, or Arts Science from Hombolo Local Government Institute or a recognized institution
Salary Scale: TGS B
2. Driver Grade II – 06 Positions
Responsibilities:
- Inspect the vehicle before and after trips for safety
- Transport staff to various work locations
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance
- Collect and distribute various documents
- Maintain trip records in the logbook
- Clean the vehicle
Qualifications:
- Completed Form Four (IV) education
- Valid Class C or E driver’s license with at least one year of accident-free driving experience
- Basic Driving Course certificate from VETA, NIT, or a recognized institution
Salary Scale: TGS B1 per month
3. Records Assistant Grade II – 03 Positions
Responsibilities:
- List incoming and outgoing letters in the correspondence register
- Distribute files to action officers and receive returned files
- Search for and track records/files needed by action officers
- Return files to storage areas
Qualifications:
- Completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education
- Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Records Management from a recognized institution
- Computer literacy
Salary Scale: TGS C1 per month
4. Community Development Assistant Grade II – 07 Positions
Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and planning projects
- Facilitate and provide training on development matters
- Participate in development activities implementation
- Educate on self-reliance jobs
- Prepare and submit monthly development work reports
- Form community and development groups
- Identify and empower poor households
Qualifications:
- Completed Form Four or Form Six education
- Certificate (NTA Level 5) in Community Development from a recognized institution
Salary Scale: TGS B1 per month
5. Office Secretary Grade II – 02 Positions
Responsibilities:
- Type letters, reports, and documents
- Receive and direct guests
- Maintain records of events, appointments, and meeting schedules
- Manage files and documents
- Prepare meeting agendas and office supply lists
Qualifications:
- Completed Form Four (Form IV) or Form Six (Form VI) education
- Diploma or certificate (NTA Level 6) in Secretarial Studies
- Proficiency in typing 100 words per minute in Kiswahili and English and using office computer programs
Salary Scale: TGS C1 per month
