PSI Tanzania works primarily in the areas of sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS prevention, and malaria control. Their goal is to increase access to health services and products, especially for underserved communities.
1. Finance and Administration Director
- Reports to: Chief of Party – PMI Mbu (Mosquitoes) Project
- Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

The PMI Mbu (Mosquitoes) Project aims to reduce the malaria burden and move Tanzania closer to malaria elimination by implementing proven, evidence-based vector control approaches. The project has four primary components:
- Insecticide-treated mosquito net (ITN) distribution.
- Social and behavior change (SBC) for ITN use and other vector control interventions.
- Using data, including those from entomological surveillance, to provide expert technical guidance and develop plans for implementing modified or new vector control approaches in Tanzania.
- Capacity strengthening of government institutions, including the Mainland Medical Store Department (MSD) and Zanzibar Central Medical Store (CMS).
Under the supervision of the Chief of Party, the Finance and Administration Director will be responsible for:
- Overseeing all aspects of budgeting, financial management, financial reporting, sub-contract management, procurement, human resources management, asset management, logistics, and contract compliance.
- Preparing financial reports for submission to USAID, ensuring compliance with U.S. Government regulations and policies, and implementing systems and processes effectively, including fraud and risk mitigation practices.
Skills & Experience:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or ACCA certification is required.
- Eight years of experience in financial management of donor-funded programs of similar size, complexity, and setting.
- Proven experience managing and supervising a team.
- Knowledge of U.S. Government cost principles, rules, and regulations, with experience applying them in program decision-making.
- Experience managing sub-contractors, including risk assessment and collaboration with host government entities.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Exceptional computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, with experience using commercially available accounting software.
2. Malaria Entomology and Vector Control Officer
- Reports to: Chief of Party – PMI Mbu (Mosquitoes) Project
- Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
The Malaria Entomology and Vector Control Officer (MEVCO) will lead component 3 of the project, providing high-level technical expertise to the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP), PORALG, and ZAMEP on all aspects of entomology monitoring and vector control interventions.
Skills & Experience:
- Master’s degree in public health, vector biology, entomology, or a related field.
- At least five years of management experience in the design, implementation, and management of vector control programs of similar size, complexity, and setting.
- Strong database, Excel, and other computer data management skills preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of data collection protocols for quality data collection and verification.
- Ability to analyze data trends and provide recommendations on project implementation.
- Proven track record in disseminating entomological information at national and international conferences and in peer-reviewed literature.
- Fluency in Swahili and strong English written and oral communication skills.
3. Chief of Party – PMI Mbu (Mosquitoes) Project
- Reports to: Country Representative
- Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Organization Overview: (Overview and Project Purpose sections are the same as above.) Your Contribution: The Chief of Party will provide vision, direction, leadership, and management for the project. They will serve as the project representative to USAID.
Skills & Experience:
- Master’s degree in public health or social science.
- Ten years of senior-level management experience in the design, implementation, and management of programs of similar size, complexity, and setting.
- Experience in providing technical guidance in malaria vector control interventions, including institutional strengthening approaches.
- Leadership skills with a proven ability to build and maintain productive working relationships, build teams, foster collaborations, and achieve program goals.
- Exceptional communication skills in written and spoken English.
- Fluency in Swahili.
