The Director of Kondoa Town Council invites qualified Tanzanians who are interested in working at Kondoa Town Council to apply for the job positions listed below. These positions are available following the receipt of a Permit with Ref. No. FA 97/288/01/09 dated June 25, 2024, from the Permanent Secretary, Office of the President, Public Service Management and Good Governance.

1.DRIVER GRADE II (05 POSITIONS)

Responsibilities Inspect the vehicle before and after trips to ensure safety. Transport staff on official duties. Perform minor vehicle maintenance. Collect and distribute various documents. Record and maintain trip details in the logbook. Clean the vehicle. Submit weekly work performance reports in the ESS system (PEPMIS).

Qualifications

  • Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education.
  • Must hold a valid Class C or E driving license with at least one year of driving experience without causing an accident.
  • Must have attended a Basic Driving Course from VETA, NIT, or another recognized institution.

Salary Scale: TGS B (Government salary scale)

2. STREET EXECUTIVE III (06 POSITIONS)

Responsibilities:

Serve as the Authorizing Officer and Chief Executive of the Street Government. Oversee the protection and security of citizens and their property; act as the Peacekeeper and overseer of good governance in the Street. Coordinate and supervise the planning and implementation of development plans in the Street.

Serve as the Secretary of all Street Council meetings and committees. Interpret and enforce policies, laws, and regulations. Prepare work execution reports and encourage citizens to implement strategies to combat hunger, poverty, and increase production. Lead the heads of professional departments in the community. Oversee, collect, and maintain all Street records and documents.

Chair meetings of professionals in the Street. Oversee the drafting of Street by-laws. Receive, listen to, and resolve citizens’ complaints and disputes. Supervise the collection of revenue within the Street and report income and expenditure every two months. Submit weekly work performance reports in the ESS system (PEPMIS). Report to the Ward Executive.

Qualifications

  • Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education.
  • Must have a Certificate or Diploma (NTA Level 5) in Administration, Law, Social Education, Financial Management, or Community Development from a recognized institution.

Salary Scale: TGS B (Government salary scale)

3. RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II (03 POSITIONS)

Responsibilities: Register incoming letters in the correspondence register. Register outgoing letters in the correspondence register. Distribute files to relevant officers. Receive and track the movement of files within the institution. Return files to their storage locations. Submit weekly work performance reports in the ESS system (PEPMIS).

Qualifications:

  • Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education.
  • Must hold a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Records Management from a recognized institution, with computer skills.

Salary Scale: TGS C (Government salary scale)

4. OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II (03 POSITIONS)

Responsibilities: Type letters, reports, and both ordinary and confidential documents. Receive visitors, assess their needs, and direct them accordingly. Maintain records of appointments, meetings, trips of the head, and other work schedules.Retrieve necessary files and documents for task execution.

Receive and distribute files to relevant officers. Collect, maintain, and return files and documents to appropriate places. Prepare meeting notes and make necessary arrangements for various meetings. Prepare a list of office equipment needs. Submit weekly work performance reports in the ESS system (PEPMIS).

Qualifications:

  • Must have passed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education.
  • Must hold a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies.
  • Must have passed shorthand in Swahili and English at 100 words per minute and be proficient in office computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from a recognized institution.

Salary Scale: TGS C (Government salary scale)

GENERAL CONDITIONS

All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged 18 to 45 years, except for those already employed in the Government. Applicants should submit a detailed CV with reliable addresses and phone numbers, and names of three trustworthy referees. Applicants should attach copies of Form Four or Six certificates, academic certificates, and a birth certificate. Result slips, statements of results, provisional results, or transcripts will NOT be accepted.

Applicants who studied abroad must submit confirmation from the Tanzania Examinations Council (NECTA) for Form Four or Six education. Applicants with foreign degrees must submit confirmation from the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU). Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for an interview. The signed application letter can be written in English or Swahili.
