Internship Overview
The ICT Internship at Jhpiego is an ideal opportunity for recent graduates interested in Information Technology (IT) to gain practical experience and learn from seasoned professionals. Interns will work closely with the IT department to provide technical assistance, manage computer systems, and configure hardware and software. - Reports to: Manager – IT
- Location: Dar es Salaam and Mwanza (1 position in each location)
- Duration: Internship positions will be filled on a rolling basis, closing on November 15, 2024.

Responsibilities
As an ICT Intern, you will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks that will help you develop your technical skills while contributing to the success of Jhpiego’s operations. Some of your core duties will include:
- IT Support: Provide technical assistance to staff, both in-person and remotely, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
- System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance of IT infrastructure, including Microsoft Windows upgrades, system troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of network equipment, printers, computers, and scanners.
- Configuration and Installation: Set up new computers, install user applications, and support the digitization of physical documents.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver training materials to staff, focusing on tools like Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, and MS Teams.
- Security and Asset Management: Maintain strict confidentiality of all data, track IT assets, and ensure compliance with security protocols.
- Network Performance Monitoring: Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, ensuring reliable internet access across the organization.
- Additional Duties: Assist with operating system upgrades and other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
Required Qualifications
To be eligible for this internship, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer System Engineering, Network and Security Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with computer systems, software (including Office 365), and network security.
- Hands-on Skills: Experience in hardware/software installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance is preferred.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide effective customer service to internal teams.
- Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
