Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Pilot II, the selected candidates will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient flight operations, both in preparation and execution. Key duties include:
- Preparing for flights and filing flight plans.
- Supervising aircraft refueling and maintaining relevant records.
- Monitoring aircraft controls and assessing weather conditions in collaboration with air traffic control.
- Assuming command of the aircraft when necessary, ensuring the safety of passengers and crew.
- Maintaining optimal cabin and cockpit conditions during flights.
- Completing required documentation, such as Voyage Reports and Technical Logs, and ensuring Captain approval.
- Verifying the proper fitting of locks and other safety measures during overnight stops.
- Preparing and reviewing TGFA Operations Manuals.
- Developing procedures and policies for Operations Control activities.
- Reviewing and recommending changes to operational policies based on aircraft types and regulations.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
To be eligible for the position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Advanced Level Secondary Education Certificate (A-Level) with at least two principal passes in Physics, Mathematics, or Geography.
- Licensing: Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) issued by the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), with Instrument Rating for multi-engine turboprop or turbojet aircraft.
- Experience: A minimum of 3,500 flying hours, including at least 1,000 hours in command.
- Aircraft Specifications: Experience with aircraft having an all-up weight between 18,600 kg and 29,400 kg.
