Benjamin Mkapa Foundation (BMF) Vacancies September 2024

The Benjamin William Mkapa Foundation (BMF), a non-profit organization established in 2006, continues its mission of ensuring healthy lives and well-being for all in Tanzania and Africa. The foundation focuses on innovating sustainable and resilient health systems to achieve equitable health outcomes. To realize its vision, BMF relies on a self-motivated workforce committed to growth and integrity. Currently, BMF seeks to fill five crucial positions across its programs, aiming to bolster its efforts in public health, global health security, monitoring and evaluation, and human resources, Available Vacancies:

1. Senior Program Officer – Global Health Security (SPO-GHS)

Location: Dar es Salaam
Department: Programs

Key Role: Support the technical and programmatic components of the USAID Afya Endelevu (Sustainable Health) – Global Health Security (GHS) program. The SPO-GHS will work closely with Tanzania’s Ministry of Health, Prime Minister’s Office, and other stakeholders to enhance health security initiatives. The role involves managing relationships with partners, providing technical assistance, and contributing to program reports and data analysis.

2. Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) Manager

Location: Dar es Salaam
Department: Strategy and Performance Management

Key Role: Oversee the development and implementation of M&E frameworks aligned with BMF’s goals. This includes gathering and analyzing data, conducting studies to improve program outcomes, and creating a learning culture within the organization.

3. Senior Officer – Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL)

Location: Dar es Salaam
Department: Strategy and Performance Management

Key Role: Assist the MERL Manager in M&E framework development and implementation. The Senior Officer will support program development, data collection, and contribute to creating key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms.

4. Manager – Corporate Communication and Partnerships

Location: Dar es Salaam
Department: Strategy and Performance Management

Key Role: Manage BMF’s internal and external communications strategy. Responsibilities include media outreach, fundraising initiatives, and building relationships with partners and stakeholders. The manager will also support policy advocacy efforts and documentation.

5. Program Officer – Compensation and Benefits

Location: Dar es Salaam
Department: Programs

Key Role: Provide human resources support, manage staff benefits, and oversee the recruitment process for project staff. The Program Officer will handle payroll, maintain staff records, and provide administrative support in recruitment and benefits management.

Qualifications

BMF is looking for candidates with relevant educational backgrounds, including degrees in public health, statistics, global health security, communication, and human resources. Successful candidates should have 3-5 years of relevant work experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and a commitment to the foundation’s values of diversity and safeguarding.
