The Bank of Tanzania established the Fund in 2009 to honor Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere’s achievements. The Fund primarily sponsors female students with outstanding academic achievements to pursue Science and Mathematics studies in Tanzanian universities. It also supports male and female Tanzanians in various fields, including Science, Mathematics, Economics, Information Technology, Accounting, and Finance, and offers Master’s degree programs.
The Bank of Tanzania, announces that it will offer higher education scholarships for the 2024/2025 academic year.
This scholarship will be awarded to Tanzanian students with high academic achievement who are enrolled in recognized universities in the country. For undergraduate degrees, scholarships will be awarded to students with high first-class performance in the 2024 Advanced Level (Form Six) examination in the following categories:
a) Female students only, who are selected to continue with undergraduate studies in Mathematics or Science.
b) Both male and female students, who are selected to continue with undergraduate studies in Mathematics, Science, Economics, ICT, Accounting, or Finance.
For master’s degrees, scholarships will be awarded to both male and female students with high academic achievement in their undergraduate degrees to pursue further studies in Mathematics, Science, Economics, ICT, Accounting, or Finance.
The scholarship covers all tuition fees, living expenses, practical training, and learning materials, including a laptop. Applications for the scholarship will officially be invited immediately after the release of the 2024 Advanced Level National Examination results.
