The Director has received new recruitment approval for the staffing plan for the fiscal year 2023/2024 with reference number FA. 97/288/01/09 dated 25.06.2024 from the Permanent Secretary, President’s Office, Public Service Management, and Good Governance. Following this approval, the Director of the Uyui District Council invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the following job vacancies:

1. Village Executive Officer III – (8 Positions)

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the principal officer and head of the Village Government. Oversee the protection and security of citizens and their properties, serve as the peacekeeper, and supervise good governance within the village. Coordinate and manage the planning of the Village’s development projects.

Act as the Secretary to all meetings and committees of the Village Council. Interpret and enforce policies, laws, and regulations.Prepare reports on the implementation of work in the area and motivate citizens in creating and implementing strategies to eliminate hunger, poverty, and increase wealth creation. Lead the heads of technical departments within the Village.

Supervise, collect, and store all records and documents of the Village. Chair meetings of experts present in the Village. Receive, listen to, and resolve citizens’ complaints and conflicts. Oversee the enactment of village bylaws. Report to the Ward Executive Officer.

Qualifications:

Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education and possess a diploma in one of the following fields: Law, Community Education, Financial Management, Community Development, or Arts Science from the Local Government Training Institute Hombolo or any other recognized institution.

Salary Scale: Based on the Government’s salary scale – TGS C.

2. Driver II – (6 Positions)

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect the vehicle before and after trips to determine its safety. Transport employees to various locations for official duties. Perform minor vehicle repairs. Record all trips in the trip logbook. Collect and deliver various documents. Clean the vehicle.

Qualifications:

Must hold a Form Four (IV) certificate and a driving license class ‘E’ or ‘C’ with at least one year of driving experience without causing accidents. Must have attended a basic driving course provided by VETA, NIT, or another recognized institution.

Salary Scale: Based on the Government’s salary scale – TGS B.

3. Records Assistant II – (5 Positions)

Key Responsibilities:

Register incoming correspondence in the registry. Register outgoing correspondence from the institution. Distribute files to action officers. Receive files returned to the registry from officers. Search for records/documents or files required by officers. Return files to racks/filling cabinets or other storage locations. Track file circulation within and outside the institution.

Qualifications:

Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education and possess a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Records Management from a government-recognized institution, with computer literacy skills.

Salary Scale: Based on the Government’s salary scale – TGS C.

4. Office Management Secretary II – (1 Position)

Key Responsibilities:

Type letters, reports, and documents, both ordinary and confidential. Receive visitors and screen their issues, directing them to the relevant offices. Maintain records of events, appointments, visitors, meeting dates, and the schedule of other official duties. Search for files and documents needed for the execution of duties.

Receive files and distribute them to the respective officers in the department/unit. Collect, store, and return files and documents to the respective storage locations. Prepare and organize minutes and agendas for various meetings. Prepare a list of office equipment requirements. Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education and hold a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or a certificate (NTA Level 6) in Secretarial Studies. Must have passed shorthand typing in Kiswahili and English at 100 words per minute and be proficient in office computer programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher from a recognized institution.

Salary Scale: Based on the Government’s salary scale – TGS C.

General Conditions:

  1. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.

  6. Applicants educated outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and certified by relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
  7. Retired public servants are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
  8. Any applicant providing false information or qualifications will be subject to legal action.
  9. The deadline for submitting applications is 28/08/2024.
