The Machine Specialist role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical engineering backgrounds to contribute to Coca-Cola Kwanza’s operations. The successful candidate will report directly to the Plant Engineer and will be responsible for supporting the operations team with technical expertise and ensuring the smooth running of machinery.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
As a Machine Specialist, the incumbent will be expected to:
Provide specialist support to shift-based teams during operations. Guide and advise teams on machine operations, fault finding, and responses to machine failure. Coach, mentor, and transfer knowledge regarding machine operations to shift teams. Develop work instructions for equipment and monitor machine performance.
Participate in maintenance planning, contributing to ideas and clarifying necessary work. Assist team members during planned maintenance schedules issued by the maintenance planner. Carry out routine maintenance and condition monitoring activities as scheduled.
Assess problems during repairs and determine appropriate solutions. Apply problem-solving methodologies to resolve technical issues. Maintain safety standards and highlight any unsafe work practices. Ensure all work is conducted according to Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) policies and procedures.
Skills, Experience & Education Required
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Be a qualified artisan with at least 3 years of technical and leadership experience in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment.
- Strong communication skills, good leadership qualities, and the ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
- A high level of integrity and general computer skills are advantageous.
