Community Forests International (CFI), an organization dedicated to environmental sustainability and community empowerment, is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Manager. This position presents a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects focused on climate change adaptation, forest conservation, and sustainable development.

As the MEL Manager, you will play a crucial role in advancing CFI’s mission by leading the development and implementation of comprehensive monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems. These systems will track the effectiveness of CFI’s programs, ensuring that the organization’s efforts are both impactful and aligned with its strategic goals. You will work closely with program teams to gather and analyze data, provide insights, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Implement MEL Systems: Develop robust frameworks for monitoring, evaluation, and learning across various projects, ensuring data-driven decision-making.

Data Collection and Analysis: Lead the process of gathering, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data to assess program performance.

Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders, including donors, partners, and the broader community.

Capacity Building: Provide training and support to staff and partners to enhance their understanding and use of MEL tools and processes.

Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to integrate MEL findings into organizational strategy and project design.

Qualifications

  • A degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Studies, Social Sciences, or International Development.
  • Proven experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning, preferably within the environmental or non-profit sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data management tools and software.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
