The Director of the Dar es Salaam City Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for the following temporary positions: Position: MILITIA OFFICER (317 Vacancies), Dar es Salaam City Council 317 Vacancies September 2024
General Requirements:
Must be a Tanzanian citizen. Should have completed Form Four or Form Six education. Must possess a National ID or NIDA number issued by the National Identification Authority. Fluency in both Kiswahili and English is required. Be in good physical and mental health, certified by a government doctor.
Have no history of drug use, Should be willing to perform militia duties anywhere within the Dar es Salaam City Council jurisdiction. Should have no criminal record. Must have completed JKT (National Service) or Militia training. Must present two recommendation letters:
- From a government employee sponsor.
- From a local resident sponsor with permanent residence in the relevant area.
Applicants must not have any pending civil or criminal charges. Age requirement: Between 18 and 45 years old. Note: Applicants submitting forged documents or false qualifications will face legal action. Government employees dismissed or terminated due to certificate forgery are not eligible to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safeguarding market properties, operations, and ensuring security at the Dar es Salaam City Council offices.
- Maintaining calm and security in assigned areas at all times.
- Performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Employment Terms:
- Duration: 3 months (temporary contract).
- Daily Salary: Tshs. 10,000/= (Ten thousand shillings only).
- Monthly Salary: Tshs. 300,000/= (Three hundred thousand shillings only).
Application Procedure
All applications must include the following certified documents:
- Form Four certificate.
- Professional certificate (if applicable).
- Birth certificate.
- National ID card.
- Two (2) recent colored passport-size photographs.

Applicants who do not meet or exceed the specified qualifications will not be considered. Incomplete applications lacking the required documents will be disregarded.
