The National Electoral Commission (NEC) is planning to conduct the Voter Register Update exercise in Zanzibar, Tanzania, in preparation for the 2025 General Elections. To effectively carry out this task, the Commission is announcing job vacancies to recruit personnel who will oversee the exercise. The available positions are as follows:

1. Registration Coordinator

Positions Available: One position in Unguja, One position in Pemba

Responsibilities:

Coordinate various information and reports related to the registration process.
Ensure the availability of required equipment and materials to facilitate registration and updates.
Act as a liaison between the Commission, district/constituency registration personnel, and stakeholders.
Collaborate with and provide guidance to Registration Officers in the designated area.

Qualifications for the Registration Coordinator: (Details about qualifications would be listed here.)

Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
Must be a Public Servant.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in any field.
Must be honest and trustworthy.
Must be a resident of the respective area (Pemba or Unguja).
Must be willing to work diligently and be able to work independently without close supervision.
Must have experience in Voter Registration/Election matters

2. Registration Officer (One position per District)

Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee registration activities in their respective district. Supervise and monitor the performance of Registration Officials under their authority. Safeguard registration equipment in the respective district. Manage the use of registration funds. Collaborate and consult with the Registration Coordinator to enhance efficiency in registration/improvement activities. Provide reports on the progress of registration activities in accordance with the guidelines from the National Electoral Commission.

Qualifications for the Registration Officer

Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
Must be a Public Servant. Must have a Bachelor’s degree, Higher Diploma, or Diploma in any field.
Must be honest and trustworthy.
Must be ready to work hard and be able to work without close supervision.
Must have experience in Registration/Election matters.

3. Assistant Registration Officer at the Regional Level (Three positions for each region)

Responsibilities Act as a liaison between the Region and the District. Oversee all registration activities in the respective Region. Assist the Registration Officer in all registration matters.
