Aqua-Farms Organization (AFO) is a non-governmental organization that was established by the government of the United Republic of Tanzania in accordance with the NGO Act, 2002. The AquaFarms Organization was founded in 2016 and registered on July 6, 2017.The group wants to increase community understanding of aquatic conservation, increase financial availability, and fervently support community-driven economic growth.
The Youth Facilitation and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Internship will be vital in assisting with the incorporation of GESI values and constructive youth development strategies into a variety ofprojects and programs that the Aqua-Farms Organization has run. For those who are enthusiastic in promoting gender equality, social inclusion, and youth empowerment, this internship is a great way to get real-world experience in a vibrant organization that is dedicated to having a good social effect.
Responsibilities
- Assist with research on gender equality and social inclusion problems related to the organization’s activities and regions of operation in order to support GESI integration.
- Participate in the creation of plans and strategies to integrate GESI concepts into the planning and execution of programs.
- Assist in planning and leading community engagement, training, and workshop sessions on GESI subjects.
- Youth Facilitation: Help with the planning and execution of projects and programs targeted at young people. Support research and assessment efforts to pinpoint problems pertaining to young people and provide relevant solutions. Internship Opportunities at Aqua-Farms Organization (AFO)
- Assist in planning and leading youth trainings, seminars, and other events that support the development of young people.
- Building Capacity: Participate in the creation of educational tools and materials about GESI and youth empowerment.
Qualifications
- enrolling in or having just completed a related graduate or undergraduate degree (such as youth development, gender studies, or the social sciences).
- zeal for and comprehension of topics related to youth empowerment, social inclusion, and gender equality.
- strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capacity to collaborate well with a variety of organizations.
- proactive and capable of working both individually and cooperatively in a team.
- Cultural understanding and sensitivity.
- proficiency with the Office suite from Microsoft as well as other pertinent programs.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili is desired.
