As part of its November 2024 hiring drive, Iringa Hope invites qualified and passionate individuals to apply for several open positions based in Iringa. 1. Loan Officer (2 Positions)

Location: Iringa
Reporting to: Microfinance Manager
Transport Mode: Motorcycle (provided)

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct outreach to build relationships with community members. Evaluate loan applications to determine eligibility.

Educate clients about loan terms, repayment schedules, and financial management. Monitor clients’ progress and ensure loan repayments. Maintain accurate records and reports.

Qualifications:

Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s in Business, Finance, or related field.

Experience: At least 2 years in financial services, with strong communication and customer-focused skills.

Additional Requirement: Valid motorcycle license; comfort in traveling to rural areas.

2. Field Officer (Agribusiness – Market Development)

Position Count: 2
Role Overview: Connect rural farmers with essential agricultural products and assist them in improving their productivity.

Key Responsibilities:  

Develop and expand market reach for fertilizers, sprays, seeds, and other agricultural products  • Build strong relationships with farmers and agribusiness clients Educate farmers on the benefits, proper use, and application of products

Identify local market needs, preferences, and trends for crops and agricultural inputs Keep detailed records of sales activities, client feedback, and market insights

Qualifications:  

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or related field
  • Experience: Strong sales skills, communication, and knowledge on agri-inputs and crops  business practiced at least 2 years.
  • Other Requirements: Valid motorcycle license and willingness to travel extensively to remote  areas

3. Accountant

Location: Iringa
Reporting to: Chief Finance Officer

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee financial transactions, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and budgeting. Prepare financial reports, statements, and analysis for management.

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Assist in audits and donor reporting. Provide financial insights for decision-making in agribusiness and microfinance.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Experience: Minimum 3 years, ideally in NGO, agribusiness, or microfinance sectors. Skills: Proficiency in accounting software, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.

4. Agribusiness Manager

Location: Iringa
Reporting to: General Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Develop business relationships with input suppliers and farmers. Oversee the Delayed Sales and Storage (DSS) program. Supervise the Trading Desk (TD) portfolio and promote innovation within the team.

Identify reliable markets for farmers’ produce and establish market linkages. Lead the team in supporting farmers with technical guidance for crop yield improvement.

Innovate and promote new agricultural products for farmers. Manage storage facilities to minimize crop losses and support profitability. Prepare annual budget and work plans for the company.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, or Marketing.

Experience: Minimum 5 years in agricultural business management, with expertise in post-harvest programs, team supervision, and market development.

Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills, as well as familiarity with agricultural best practices.
