The Chief Medical Officer of the Katavi Regional Referral Hospital informs all qualified citizens to apply for various contractual job positions for a duration of one year. The available positions are as follows:
1. Medical Officer Grade II (Medical Officers) – 7 Positions
Qualifications:
- A Degree in Medicine from recognized universities.
- Completion of Internship.
- Registration with the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing all hospital medical tasks related to various diseases including pediatrics, obstetrics, general, and emergency surgery.
- Providing and managing health education and community health improvements.
- Investigating, monitoring, and preventing disease outbreaks.
- Keeping and using statistics as directed by MTUHA principles.
- Planning and evaluating health services in the area of work.
- Teaching students and employees.
- Supervising and directing subordinate employees.
- Teaching students in health institutions within the area of work.
- Designing and conducting research and disseminating results.
- Developing strategies to improve service quality.
- Preparing health service plans and budget estimates.
- Participating in medical audits and quality improvement.
- Providing outreach services in the district/region.

2. Accountant Grade II – 2 Positions
Qualifications:
- A Degree/Advanced Diploma in Business/Arts specializing in Accounting from a recognized university.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participating in preparing income and expenditure reports.
- Preparing revenue reports.
- Reconciling bank accounts and other financial accounts.
- Preparing various payroll reports.
- Writing payment and receipt vouchers.
- Keeping an account register.
- Performing other accounting-related tasks as assigned.
3. Accounts Assistant – 6 Positions
Qualifications:
- A Diploma in Accounting from a recognized institution or an ATEC II Certificate from NBAA or equivalent qualifications recognized by NBAA.

- Conducting laboratory investigations (Haematology, Parasitology, Microbiology, Immunology, Blood Group Serology, Entomology, Clinical Chemistry, and Histopathology).

Laboratory – 1 Position
- General cleaning of the laboratory.

- Receiving and registering patients.

10. Electrical Technician Grade II – 1 Position
Qualifications:
- Form IV education with a three-year electrical course from a recognized technical institution.
- Form VI education with two-year electrical training from a recognized institution.
- Trade Test Grade I in electrical engineering from a recognized technical institution.
- Ordinary Diploma in electrical engineering from a recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reading and interpreting various electrical systems (wiring).
- Performing electrical wiring.
- Repairing electrical systems.
- Ensuring backup power systems function during emergencies.
- Collaborating with other staff to achieve hospital goals.
- Performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
11. Plumbing Technician Grade II – 1 Position
Qualifications:
- Form IV education with a Trade Test Grade III/CBET I in Plumbing from VETA or a recognized institution.

- Drawing and interpreting plumbing diagrams.
- Estimating costs for plumbing repairs.
- Ensuring safety and cleanliness of plumbing systems.
- Repairing and maintaining plumbing systems.
- Inspecting and advising on water and sewage plumbing systems.

12. Assistant Information Officer Grade II – 1 Position
Qualifications:
- Form IV or VI education with a Diploma in Information from recognized institutions, with at least one year of experience in the information sector and computer skills.

- Photographing exhibitions.
- Storing and maintaining photographic archives.
- Preparing magazines, brochures, and posters.
- Collecting various statistics.
- Managing and updating hospital social media information.

13. Customer Care Representative – 6 Positions
Qualifications:
- Form IV or VI education with a Certificate or Diploma in Customer Care and Computer Science from recognized institutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Directing clients to various services.
b) Registering all clients seeking medical services.
c) Providing feedback and handling client complaints.
d) Ensuring clients pay for various services received.
e) Keeping confidential client records and information.
f) Collecting client feedback and forwarding it for appropriate actions.
g) Providing customer services to agreed standards.
14. Driver Grade II – 2 Positions
Qualifications:
- Form IV certificate and a valid Class E or C1 driving license with at least one year of accident-free experience.
- Attendance of vocational training (VETA) or another recognized institution is an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to ensure safety.
b) Transporting staff to various work locations.
c) Performing minor vehicle repairs.
d) Collecting and distributing various documents.
e) Recording all trips in the logbook.
f) Cleaning the vehicle.
g) Performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
General Conditions for Applicants:
- Salary levels will follow the National Guidelines of July 2021 for handling voluntary health workers.
- Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged 18-45.
