With registration number 00NGO/R2/00011, The Legal Services Facility (LSF) is a recognized non-governmental organization (NGO). The LSF was established to distribute funds to groups on Tanzania’s mainland and Zanzibar that offer paralegal and legal aid services on an equal basis. These services support people in asserting their rights, addressing complaints, and defending their basic human rights.

The Program/Advocacy Manager will supervise the planning, budgeting, management, staffing, organizing, leading, and directing of all program activities as well as the coordination and administration of all ongoing LSF program operations.

POSITION: Program/Advocacy Manager
LOCATION: Dar es Salaam
REPORTS TO: Director of Programs & Operations

Responsibilities:

  • In order to achieve the desired outcomes in line with the LSF annual strategic plan, coordinate the implementation of LSF program activities and advocacy actions by the LSF as an organization and LSF’s grantees.
  • Creation of LSF yearly plans, which include overseeing the appropriate execution of the programs section’s budget and working closely with the director of programs and operations.
  • Conduct yearly performance reviews for direct reports.

Qualification:

  • An advanced degree in social sciences or a similar discipline.
  • Understanding, aptitude, and competency
  • Understanding of managing and implementing programs
  • Understanding legal empowerment, human rights awareness raising, legal education, and legal help
  • Understanding Tanzanian local governance systems
  • They ought to exhibit proficiency in the following areas:
  • A strategic, analytical, creative, and inventive thinker with the capacity to oversee several projects
  • Needs to be extremely well-organized and able to collaborate with others
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities in both English and Kiswahili are required.
  • Pay attention to client-centered strategies and your capacity to address community issues.
