Following the issuance of a replacement employment permit with Ref No. FA.97/288/01/09 dated June 25, 2024, from the Secretary General, President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, the Executive Director of the Longido District Council announces job vacancies for qualified and capable Tanzanians to fill the following positions:

1. VILLAGE EXECUTIVE OFFICER GRADE III (21 POSITIONS)

APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a Secondary Education Certificate (Form IV or VI) and have completed a Diploma/Certificate in one of the following fields: Administration, Law, Social Education, Financial Management, Community Development, and Arts Science from the Local Government Training Institute in Hombolo, Dodoma, or any other recognized institution by the government.

1.2 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Chief Officer and the main executive of the village government;
  2. Oversee the protection and safety of citizens and their property, act as the peacekeeper, and uphold good governance in the village;
  3. Coordinate and manage the planning of village development plans;
  4. Secretary of all meetings and committees of the village council;
  5. Interpret and oversee policies, laws, and procedures;
  6. Prepare job execution reports in the area and motivate citizens in preparing and implementing strategies to eliminate hunger, poverty, and increase productivity;
  7. Leader of the technical heads in the village;
  8. Manage, collect, and store all village records and documents;
  9. Chairman of the expert meeting in the village;
  10. Receive, listen to, and resolve citizens’ complaints and conflicts;
  11. Oversee the creation of village by-laws;
  12. Report to the Ward Executive Officer;
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by the employer.

SALARY SCALE: According to the Government Salary Scale TGS B.

2. DRIVER GRADE II (4 POSITIONS)

APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a Form IV certificate, a valid ‘C’ class driving license, and at least three (3) years of driving experience without causing any accidents. Must have attended basic driving training (Basic Driving Course) provided by the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) or another recognized institution by the government.

SALARY: According to the Government Salary Scale TGS B.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspect the vehicle before and after a trip to determine the safety condition of the vehicle. Transport staff to various locations for work-related trips. Perform minor vehicle repairs. Maintain and record all trips in the logbook. Collect and distribute various documents. Clean the vehicle. Perform other tasks as instructed by the supervisor.

GENERAL TERMS FOR APPLICANTS

All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged 18 to 45 years, except those already employed in the government. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statement of Results, and Form IV and VI Results Slips will not be accepted. Applicants who studied abroad should ensure their certificates have been verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).

Applicants already employed in entry positions in public service should not apply and must follow instructions in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010. Submission of forged information and qualifications will result in legal action. The deadline for job applications is July 18, 2024.
