The Executive Director of the Mbeya District Council has received approval for new employment for the staffing year 2023/2024 from the Permanent Secretary, President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, with Ref. No. FA.97/288/01/09 dated 25/06/2024. Therefore, all qualified Tanzanians are invited to apply for the following positions:
1.DRIVER GRADE II – 2 POSITIONS
Duties And Responsibilities
Inspect the vehicle before and after the trip to determine the vehicle’s safety condition; Transport employees to various locations for work trips; Perform minor vehicle maintenance; Maintain and record all trips in the logbook; Collect and distribute various documents; Clean the vehicle; and Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
Must have completed Form Four (IV) and obtained a Form Four (IV) examination certificate. Must have a driving license of class ‘C’ or ‘E’ with at least one year (1) driving experience without causing an accident. Attended a Basic Driving Course provided by the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) or another institution recognized by the Government.

2. VILLAGE EXECUTIVE GRADE III – 5 POSITIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable officer and Chief Executive of the Village Government; Oversee the security and safety of citizens and their property, acting as a peacekeeper and ensuring good governance in the village; Coordinate and oversee the planning and implementation of village development plans;
Secretary to all village council meetings and committees; Interpret and enforce policies, laws, and regulations; Prepare work implementation reports and mobilize citizens to develop and implement strategies to eliminate hunger, poverty, and increase productivity;
Lead heads of professional units in the village; Manage, collect, and store all village records and documents; Chair meetings of experts in the village; Receive, listen to, and resolve citizens’ complaints and conflicts; Oversee the drafting of village by-laws; and Report to the Ward Executive Officer. Perform other duties as assigned by the employer.

Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Six (VI) and obtained a Form Four (IV) or Six (VI) examination certificate.
Must have completed a Certificate (NTA Level 5) in one of the following fields: Administration, Law, Social Studies, Financial Management, Community Development, and Social Sciences from a recognized institution.

3. OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY II – 3 POSITIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES
Type letters, reports, and ordinary and confidential documents; Receive guests and listen to their concerns, and direct them to the appropriate assistance; Maintain records and keep track of events, appointments, visitors, meeting dates, the trips of the superior, and other work schedules;
Retrieve files and documents required for work tasks; Receive files and distribute them to relevant officers/departments/sections; Collect, store, and return files and documents to their respective places; Prepare notes and make arrangements for various meetings; and Prepare a list of office needs.
APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Six (VI) and obtained a Form Four (IV) or Six (VI) examination certificate.
Must have a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution.
Additionally, must have passed shorthand in Swahili and English at 100 words per minute and have training in office computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Publisher.

4. RECORDS ASSISTANT GRADE II- 5 POSITIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES Register incoming letters in the register (incoming correspondence register); Register outgoing letters in the register (outgoing correspondence register); Distribute files to action officers; Receive files returning to the registry from action officers;
Retrieve records/documents/files required by action officers; Return files to the racks/filling cabinets or other storage places; Track the circulation of files within the institution (File tracking);

Must have completed a Diploma (NTA level 6) in Records Management from a recognized institution, and also have computer skills.
