Management and Development for Health (MDH) invites applications from qualified individuals to fill 74 Volunteer Community Tester positions across multiple health facilities in Dar es Salaam. Volunteer Community Tester (74 Posts)
Locations: Dar es Salaam City Council, Temeke, Kinondoni, Kigamboni, Ubungo Municipal Councils, and Regional Referral Hospitals (Amana, Mwananyamala, Temeke).
Reporting To: Facility In-charge.

The Volunteer Community Tester will support health facilities in implementing and reporting on HIV Testing Services (HTS) and ensuring linkage to Antiretroviral Therapy (ART). The role involves raising awareness, providing counseling and testing, and maintaining accurate records while adhering to national guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Educating clients on HIV prevention, treatment, and healthy lifestyles. Acting as a liaison between healthcare providers and clients. Providing counseling and HIV testing while ensuring patient confidentiality.
Documenting referrals, conducting follow-ups, and reporting referral outcomes. Ensuring quality assurance (QA/QC) of HIV testing kits. Managing the storage and requisition of HTS supplies. Preparing and submitting weekly, monthly, and quarterly HTS reports.
Maintaining accurate records in HTS logbooks and registers. Supporting quality improvement plans for HTS services. Conducting HIV testing in accordance with national algorithms. Participating in the National External Quality Assessment (EQA) program for HIV rapid tests. Performing any additional duties assigned by the clinical team.
Requirements
- Education: Diploma in Medicine, Nursing, or related health fields.
- Licensure: Valid practicing license (Certificate for HIV testing is an added advantage).
- Experience: At least 3 years in HIV/AIDS care and treatment services.
- Skills:
- Strong confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
