Job Purpose:

The primary goal of these roles is to support the bank in achieving its retail sales targets through daily customer interactions. Candidates will focus on selling the bank’s products and services to both new and existing customers while deepening customer relationships. This role requires operational excellence and adherence to high service standards.

Job Locations: Dar es Salaam Zone, Highlands Zone, Southern Zone, Central Zone, Western Zone, Northern Zone, Lake Zone, Zanzibar Cluster

Main Responsibilities:

Customer Acquisition: Engage in door-to-door sales, appointments, and referrals to acquire new customers within assigned territories. Account Opening: Assist new customers in opening bank accounts and handle account opening fees for delivery to the branch. NMB Mkononi Registration: Educate customers on NMB’s self-service channels and help register them for NMB Mkononi.

Compliance: Ensure all accounts opened adhere to the bank’s Know Your Customer (KYC) standards. Sales Targets: Meet or exceed weekly, monthly, and yearly sales quotas. Lead Generation and Cross-Selling: Identify sales opportunities and cross-sell bank products and services to customers. Campaign Participation: Actively participate in sales campaigns, events, and special projects to promote bank products.

Repeat Business: Foster relationships with existing customers to encourage repeat business. Marketing Strategy: Collaborate with management to identify effective marketing and pricing strategies. Tools and Materials Management: Ensure safekeeping of marketing materials and tools. Sales Knowledge Improvement: Continuously enhance sales presentations and deepen knowledge of bank products and services. Other Duties: Carry out any other relevant tasks as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Direct sales expertise. Knowledge of banking products and services. Strong customer relationship management. Ability to work in an outdoor environment and withstand challenging weather conditions. Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours.Attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.

Consultative selling skills. Excellent customer service abilities. Effective communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Word and Excel.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Banking, Insurance & Risk Management, Marketing, or related fields.
  • Additional Advantage: Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance will be a plus.
