The Manager of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) in Karatu District, on behalf of the community-level water service providers (CBWSOs) of JUWAMAKIHU, BAEWASU, ENDAWASU, BASHAWASU, GYEWASU, ENDAMIKO, MANG’OIA BARAZANI, LAGHANGARER, and MALECKCHAND, announces job vacancies for Supervisors (Chief Technicians) and Accountant/Cashier for the community water service providers (CBWSOs) as follows:
1. Chief Technician/Project Supervisor – 8 Positions
Applicant Qualifications:
Must be a Tanzanian citizen of sound mind who can read and write. Must have at least a secondary education certificate. Must have a certificate in water engineering (Grade Test Grade III/CBET Level I) or higher. Must have at least one year of experience in water projects. Supervisors for MANG’OLA BARAZANI, GYEWASU, and ENDAWASU must have a diploma in plumbing from a recognized institution.
Responsibilities
Work under the community water committee. Additionally, supervise and manage the daily activities of the water service provider. Furthermore, serve as the secretary of the committee and handle all meetings. Moreover, prepare and manage meeting and session schedules. Above all, ensure high-quality water service delivery to all customers.
Supervise all water infrastructure maintenance to ensure timely water service availability. Subsequently, prepare and submit management, operation, and maintenance reports monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually to the water committee. In addition, prepare and manage the project budget and water service operations, overseeing all income and expenditures.
Promote water service contributions and resolve customer disputes. Finally, supervise the procurement process.rement of project materials and water service in accordance with procurement procedures.
2. Accountant/Cashier (Supervisor of Financial Accounts) – 5 Positions
Applicant Qualifications:
- Should be a Tanzanian citizen of sound mind who can read and write.
- Should have at least a secondary education certificate.
- Must have a certificate in accounting (Grade III) or higher.
- Aged between 18 to 45 years.
- Should be proficient in using a computer (Word, Excel, Internet, accounting software, etc.).
- Should be honest, trustworthy, and have no criminal record.
Responsibilities:
Work under the Chief Technician/Project Supervisor. Additionally, manage all financial matters within the organization. Furthermore, supervise and receive water payments and contributions in accordance with financial collection procedures.
Moreover, prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual income and expenditure reports to the Chief Technician/Project Supervisor and the community water service committee. Lastly, perform other duties as assigned by the community water service committee and the RUWASA district office.
Employment Terms and Salary:
All the mentioned positions are contract-based for three (3) years with a six-month probation period.
Successful applicants will be paid according to the collection and salary scales set by the respective community water service provider. Applicants must be willing to work in any assigned area.
