Sea Sense is a Non Government Organisation (NGO) that works closely with coastal communities in Tanzania to conserve and protect endangered marine wildlife including sea turtles, dugongs, whales, dolphins and whale sharks. These species, together with their habitats face a very uncertain future, mostly as a result of human activities in the coastal zone. Their continued survival is implicitly linked with the protection of the wider coastal and marine ecosystem and the wellbeing of coastal peoples. We are Currently Looking for Individuals who can fill the Following open Positions

1. Project Accountant

Reports To: Finance and Administration Officer
Department: Finance
Employment Type: Full-time

As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing financial operations related to Sea Sense projects. Your key duties will include budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a meticulous individual with a strong background in accounting and financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records for all project activities.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Generate financial reports for project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in project accounting or financial management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

2. Project Assistant

Reports To: Programme Coordinator
Department: Programme Department
Employment Type: Full-time

The Project Assistant will support the implementation of Sea Sense projects by providing administrative and logistical assistance. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a passion for marine conservation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of project activities.
  • Provide administrative support to project teams.
  • Maintain project documentation and records.
  • Coordinate communication between project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Marine Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in project coordination or administrative support.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
