The Role of Senior Internal Audit Officer
Located in the Morogoro Region, the Senior Internal Audit Officer will carry out a range of responsibilities that include:
- Executing the monthly audit plan to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Preparing detailed audit reports and communicating findings to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Conducting special investigations and audits as required, providing critical insights into operational effectiveness.
- Evaluating internal controls and testing systems to ensure their adequacy in safeguarding assets and ensuring the reliability of information.
- Leading entry and exit conferences with management to discuss audit processes and findings.
- Engaging in discussions regarding major risks or audit findings with the Chief Internal Audit Officer (CHIA) and management.
- Participating in annual stock counts and ensuring thorough documentation of all audit processes.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
In addition to standard auditing tasks, the Senior Internal Audit Officer will have a crucial role in safeguarding practices within the organization. Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the safety of team members from harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
- Promoting a culture of safeguarding throughout the organization, adhering to BRAC’s standards and procedures.
- Following proper reporting procedures in the event of any safeguarding incidents and encouraging colleagues to do the same.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Candidates interested in this position should meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline from a recognized institution. Professional qualifications such as CIA, CPA, or ACCA will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in Internal Audit, Accounting, and Finance.
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and sound independent judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to manage large datasets effectively.
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to produce well-composed and original reports.
