Currently, SUMAIT is seeking qualified and dedicated individuals to fill the positions of Internal Auditor, Estate Officer, ICT Software Programmer Officer, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Administration and Finance (DVC (AF)).

1. Internal Auditor

Location: Zanzibar

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for providing independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the university’s operations. The role involves evaluating the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting audits to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • Identifying and reporting on risk management issues and internal controls deficiencies.
  • Providing recommendations for improving the university’s operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA) is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of auditing experience, preferably in an academic setting.

2. Estate Officer

Location: Zanzibar

The Estate Officer will oversee the management and maintenance of university properties and infrastructure. This includes ensuring that all facilities are safe, functional, and meet the needs of the university community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the maintenance and repair of university buildings and grounds.
  • Coordinating with contractors and service providers.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Estate Management, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in estate management.

3. ICT Software Programmer Officer
