The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is entrusted with maintaining and developing the trunk and regional road networks across Tanzania Mainland. Additionally, TANROADS Dodoma New Vacancies September 2024, it oversees Axle Load Control Operations through the use of weighbridge scales to ensure compliance with road usage laws.

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the road infrastructure, TANROADS is undertaking significant projects in Dodoma, including the upgrading of several key road sections to bitumen standard. These projects are crucial in promoting the economic and social development of the region by improving transport connectivity.

Project Overview

The Regional Manager of TANROADS Dodoma, on behalf of the Chief Executive, is seeking to recruit competent and qualified Tanzanians to fill positions for three (3) major road upgrading projects in the region. These projects include:

  1. Upgrading of Ntyuka Jet – Mvumi – Kikombo Jet (76.0 km) and Chololo Mapinduzi (TPDF HQ) Roads (5 km):
    • Section I: Ntyuka – Mvumi Hospital – Kikombo Road (53 km)
    • Section II: Kikombo Jet – Chololo – Mapinduzi (TPDF HQ) Road (16.4 km)
  2. Upgrading of Kongwa Jet – Ngambi – Mpwapwa Road (32.0 km)
  3. Upgrading of Mpwapwa Gulwe – Kibakwe Road (46.9 km)

These road improvements are aimed at enhancing transport in Dodoma, especially in areas with high traffic and economic activity. In line with these efforts, TANROADS is looking for professionals in various fields to join their team. Available Positions

1. Senior Engineer (Highway Engineer) – 3 Posts

Job Type: Full-time

Entry Qualifications:

  • Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Must have at least seven (7) years of relevant work experience, including three (3) projects of a similar nature.
  • Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Professional Engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of construction projects to ensure adherence to the contract provisions.
  • Conduct road surveys and oversee the construction of pavement structures.
  • Monitor site operations to ensure the highest construction standards are maintained at economic costs.
  • Review designs, approve shop drawings, and prepare weekly/monthly project reports.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers and technicians.

Terms of Service:

  • One-year contract, renewable based on the completion of the project.
  • Salary: Based on TANROADS Salary Scale.

2. CAD Technician – 1 Post

Job Type: Full-time

Entry Qualifications:

  • Tanzanian citizen.
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare drawings and sketches in collaboration with other staff for road/bridge designs.
  • Liaise with the Highway Engineer for improvements in design sketches and drawings.

Terms of Service:

  • One-year contract, renewable upon project completion.
  • Salary: TANROADS Salary Scale.
