The Tanzania Forest Services (TFS) Agency is a semi-autonomous government agency established under Government Notice No. 269 of 30th July, 2010, pursuant to the Executive Agency Act (Cap. 245) and its amendments. The Agency implements the National Forest and Beekeeping Policy of 1998 and operates under the Forest Act (Cap 323 R.E of 2002) and the Beekeeping Act (Cap 224 R.E of 2002). It is one of four units within the Wildlife and Forest Conservation Service, as established by the Written Laws (Miscellaneous Amendments) (No. 2) Act, 2020.
Headquarters: The TFS Headquarters is located at Misitu House, Itega along Singida Road, Dodoma. Operational Zones: TFS operates across seven zones:
- Eastern Zone: Kibaha, Pwani Region
- Southern Zone: Masasi District, Mtwara Region
- Southern Highlands Zone: Mbeya City, Mbeya Region
- Northern Zone: Same District, Kilimanjaro Region
- Western Zone: Tabora Municipal, Tabora Region
- Lake Zone: Mwanza City, Mwanza Region
- Central Zone: Dodoma City, Dodoma Region
Operational matters are managed at the respective zones, while the Headquarters focuses on strategic management issues.
General Conditions:
Eligibility: All applicants must be Citizens of Tanzania. Age limits: Not above 30 years for Bachelor degree posts and 25 years for non-degree posts. Paramilitary Recruits Course: Applicants must be ready to attend and successfully complete a six-month Paramilitary Recruits Course before receiving an appointment letter.
