On behalf of the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA), the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) invites dynamic and suitably qualified Tanzanians to apply for three hundred and fifty-one (351) vacant positions as detailed below:

THE TANZANIA WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY (TAWA)

Established in 2013 through Establishment Order GN. No 124 issued on 7th May, 2013, TAWA was created to take over wildlife management functions previously performed by the Wildlife Division of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism. TAWA is an autonomous body responsible for the protection, management, and administration of wildlife resources outside National Parks and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It operates under the Wildlife and Forest Conservation Service (WFCS).

1. Conservation Ranger III – Driver (3 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive the Authority’s vehicles.
  • Maintain the vehicle logbook and movement records.
  • Ensure smooth running of vehicles.
  • Perform simple vehicle repairs.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and adhere to the service schedule.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Holder of Form IV Certificate.
  • Valid Class “C or E” Driving License.
  • Basic Driving Course from VETA or any recognized institution.
  • At least one (1) year of driving experience without causing accidents.

Age Limit: Not above 25 years.

Remuneration: TAWAS 2.1

2. Conservation Ranger III – Wildlife Management (200 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct wildlife protection patrols. Collect trophies observed during patrols. Record poaching incidences and ecological information. Manage crime scenes and properly collect exhibits and information. Arrest suspects. Take statements from suspects and charge compound fees for wildlife-related crimes.

Provide written statements and testimony on suspects. Receive and send messages during patrols. Clean and safeguard firearms. Support general operations outside protected areas. Combat serious wildlife-related crimes such as tourist attacks and armed robbery. Conduct special operations against the poaching of endangered wild animals.

Control problem animals. Assess wildlife damage and prepare reports. Control wildfires. Guard base camps. Supervise hunting and photographic tourism activities. Maintain records of tourism activities. Perform any other related duties as assigned by superiors.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Holder of Basic Technician Certificate in Wildlife Management from a recognized institution.

Age Limit: Not above 25 years.

Remuneration: TAWAS 2.1

3. Conservation Ranger III – Wildlife (Technician) (145 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities: Perform duties as outlined for the Wildlife Management positions above. Qualifications and Experience: Holder of Technician Certificate in Wildlife Management from a recognized institution. Age Limit: Not above 25 years.

Remuneration: TAWAS 2.1

4. Conservation Ranger II – Assistant Wildlife Management Officer (3 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities: Perform duties as outlined for the Wildlife Management positions above. Qualifications and Experience: Holder of at least a Diploma in Wildlife Management from a recognized institution. Age Limit: Not above 25 years.

Remuneration: TAWAS 3.1

General Conditions:

All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged not above 25 years. Applicants must be prepared to attend and successfully complete a six-month Paramilitary Recruits Course before receiving an appointment letter. Applicants must attach an up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV) with reliable contacts, including postal address, email, and telephone numbers.

Applications should be based solely on the information provided in this advertisement. Certified copies of the following certificates must be attached:

  • Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificates.
  • Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma transcripts.
  • Form IV and Form VI National Examination Certificates.
  • Professional Registration and Training Certificates from relevant regulatory bodies (where applicable).
  • Birth certificate.

The following documents are not accepted:

  • Form IV and Form VI results slips.
  • Testimonials and partial transcripts.

A recent Passport Size Photo must be uploaded in the Recruitment Portal. Public Service employees must route their applications through their respective employers. Retired Public Service employees are not eligible to apply. Applicants should provide three reputable referees with reliable contacts. Certificates from foreign examination bodies must be verified by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).

Professional certificates from foreign universities and other institutions must be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE). A signed application letter should be written in either Swahili or English and addressed to:
