On behalf of the Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC), the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat invites dynamic and suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill twenty-six (26) vacant posts mentioned below. Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) is a public institution established under the Railway Act No. 10 of 2017. The main objective of TRC is to provide rail transport services and to develop, promote, and manage rail infrastructure.
1. MECHANICAL TECHNICIANS II – 8 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Undertake maintenance of rolling stock and locomotives;
- Maintain workshop machinery and plants;
- Service refrigeration and air conditioning facilities;
- Service mechanical handling equipment and ancillary plants; and
- Help the supervisor to maintain records.
Qualification and Experience:
- Holder of Full Technician Certificate (FTC), NTA Level 6, or Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Salary Scale: TRCS 3
2. ELECTRICAL TECHNICIANS II – 18 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components of the connection in the system and report to the supervisor in case of any disorder;
- Participate in the installation of new electrical systems;
- Maintain and repair catenary systems, including but not limited to catenary poles and foundations, catenary support arms and associated components, contact wire, catenary insulating devices, power disconnect and switching devices, and surge protection devices; and
- Prepare project quantity and cost estimates.
Qualification and Experience:
- Holder of Full Technician Certificate (FTC), NTA Level 6, or Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Salary Scale: TRCS 3

An applicant should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts; Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education should be verified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA); Professional certificates from foreign universities and other training institutions should be verified by The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE);
