Key Responsibilities
The Risk and Compliance Specialist will report to the Deputy Representative for Operations, working to reinforce risk and compliance across various UNICEF initiatives. Primary responsibilities include:
- Risk Management Support: Conducting risk assessments, ensuring the alignment of project proposals with risk management goals, and performing quality assurance through office visits and peer reviews.
- Compliance Assurance: Monitoring systems for adherence to UNICEF’s regulations, supporting the preparation of internal controls, and managing audits.
- Fraud Risk Management: Assisting in fraud investigations, enforcing anti-fraud policies, and advising on preventative measures.
- Advisory Role: Providing management with strategic recommendations to bolster accountability and governance.
- Capacity Building: Establishing internal control systems, addressing policy gaps, and supporting continuous professional development.
- Regional Support: Assisting UNICEF’s regional offices by sharing expertise and best practices.

Required Qualifications
- Education: Advanced degree in fields such as Business Administration, Financial Management, Risk Management, or Internal Control.
- Experience: At least five years of relevant professional experience, preferably with international organizations, and expertise in financial control, risk management, or audits.
- Languages: Proficiency in English; knowledge of another UN language is beneficial.
