Job Title: Financial Controller
Location: Zanzibar, Tanzania
As a Financial Controller, you will be a strategic partner to the various business units across Bakhresa Group. Your main responsibility will be to oversee financial activities and support the business in achieving its financial and operational objectives. You will provide critical insights that help guide business decisions, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead the optimization of financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
Business Financial Insights: Provide data-driven financial insights to inform and support business strategies and operational decisions. Controls, Compliance & Assurance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory standards, and financial compliance requirements.
Reporting & Process Efficiencies: Streamline financial reporting processes, driving efficiency and ensuring accuracy. Capability Building: Lead the development of financial acumen within the organization through training, mentoring, and enhancing internal financial skills.
Additional Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Financial Controller role should possess the following skills and qualifications:
Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to dissect financial data and provide strategic recommendations. Leadership & Strategic Thinking: Experience in leading teams and aligning financial objectives with broader business goals. Flexibility: Comfortable working in dynamic and unstructured environments.
Banking and Treasury Knowledge: Familiarity with banking and treasury operations is an added advantage. Cross-functional Understanding: A well-rounded understanding of various business functions beyond finance, particularly in the manufacturing sector.
Manufacturing Industry Expertise: Experience in the FMCG industry is preferred. Change Management: Experience in leading or participating in change management initiatives within organizations. Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial systems like OTC and SAP. Communication & Presentation: Strong communication skills, especially in team collaboration and presentation settings.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Qualification: A Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in the manufacturing sector, with preference for experience in FMCG.
- Specialized Experience: Exposure to Sales/Commercial Finance and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is highly desirable.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with SAP modules and OTC processes is a significant advantage.
