Clinical Nutritionist intern

Chemonics International Inc is seeking Clinical Nutritionist Interns for the USAID/Tanzania Lishe (Nutrition) Project. The five-year project aims to strengthen health and food market systems in Tanzania, promoting optimal nutrition-related behaviors. Candidates must be recent graduates in clinical nutrition, dietetics, human nutrition, or a related field. Interns will be based in regional or district health facilities for one year, promoting quality delivery of nutrition interventions. They will be strategically located in the five regions of Njombe, Songwe, Rukwa, Katavi, and Kigoma.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support in the implementation and monitoring of hospital-based quality improvement programs such as quality improvement, maternity, infant, young child, and adolescent nutrition, and the Baby.
- Friendly Hospital Initiative at the recognized health facilities.
- Provide technical assistance to health care facilities in the creation of nutrition units/corners, including ECCD.
- Quality Improvement Initiatives: Work with regional project coordinators to help hospitals implement quality improvement initiatives for clinical nutrition at their institutions.
- Patient Nutrition Education: Offer individual and group nutrition education sessions to clients, concentrating on newborn, mother, and early child eating, as well as promoting the 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding.
- Professional Development: Attend educational seminars, workshops, and conferences to further your knowledge and abilities in clinical nutrition and dietetics.

Qualifications
- An recognized institution offers a bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition, dietetics, human nutrition, or a related discipline.
- Strong writing and verbal communication abilities, with the ability to effectively educate and counsel patients from all backgrounds.
- Proficiency with computer software such as electronic health record systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to operate independently and cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Proven dedication to professional development in the field of clinical nutrition and dietetics.
- Prior experience in clinical nutrition research approaches.
- Experience in community participation and outreach projects focused on nutrition and healthcare education.
- Strong organizing and prioritizing abilities, as well as attention to detail.
