Save the Children is dedicated to giving young people the chance to experience the working world. The Internship opportunities are available in the following functions:
1. Intern in Program Development and Quality (PDQ) Under the direction of the Director of Programme Development and Quality, the position holder will offer coordination assistance to the Programme Development and Quality (PDQ) team. The PDQ intern will assist with work planning, information management, process coordination, and research in addition to supporting the PDQ team’s daily tasks. The duties assigned to the intern will change based on the demands and current projects of the PDQ team.
2. T4D Intern, Under the overall supervision and direction of the Technology for Development (T4D) expert, the position holder will offer KCO employees prompt and excellent IT technical assistance. The position holder will also be heavily involved in providing KCO with technical assistance and innovative IT solutions via remote help from Nairobi.
3. Knowledge Management and Learning Intern, This position’s primary goal is to support the execution of the Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) and the Knowledge Management Strategy of the Kenyan country office by enhancing knowledge management and learning in the CO and facilitating its consistent, high-quality capture, dissemination, and application through evaluation, research, and learning activities that help Save the Children accomplish its goals on a national, regional, and international level.
4. supply chain intern: The supply chain intern works with the logistics unit to manage assets and warehouses, process requests for products and services for the Nairobi Country Office and field offices, and guarantee program fulfillment.Â
5. Safety and Security Intern: Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, the job holder will coordinate safety and security matters.
6. Health Intern: As a member of the health team (based in Nairobi and Turkana, respectively), the intern will help lead Save the Children’s development efforts and assist in scaling up life-saving medical treatments for children and expectant mothers in the organization’s operational regions.
7. Tech Hub Intern: This position will work at the Nairobi technology hub, which is dedicated to providing a worldwide service to all Save the Children nations. The Nairobi Tech Hub team is in charge of creating and managing the several programs and platforms that Save the Children uses all around the world.
8. IT Intern: The position holder will be in charge of providing technical assistance and innovative IT solutions to the Area Offices via remote help from Nairobi and sporadic field office visits.
9. Finance Intern: The position’s primary duty is to assist the Finance team in meeting deadlines and accuracy requirements. This is a crucial position as it will be essential to processing all payables and obligations in the Country Office on schedule.
10. HR & Administration Intern: The intern will assist with HR and administrative tasks. This include helping with hiring, documenting employees, and keeping up with HR paperwork. Organize meetings, keep track of office supplies, and help with daily office tasks to provide administrative assistance.Â
Three months of internship, with the option to extend for an additional three, depending on performance. The intern will show that they are actively participating in their education.
The intern will adhere to all terms and conditions outlined in the internship agreement and take part in the organization’s orientation activities. Following instructions from the supervisor, the intern will provide a thorough report at the conclusion of the project that details their learnings and accomplishments throughout the internship.
Professional Requirements
- graduates in fields related to Save the Children International’s work from respectable national, regional, or international colleges.
