Tanzania Cotton Board is a statutory organization that was formed by the Act of Parliament No. 2 of 2001, and entrusted with the function of overseeing the growth and sustainability of the cotton sub-sector. 1. Position: Agricultural Officer (Classification) (2 Posts)
Location: Mwanza, Tanzania
Reports to: Regional Manager
The Agricultural Officer (Classification) at Tanzania Cotton Board (TCB) is responsible for ensuring the quality of cotton through classification and grading. The role involves field inspections, sample analysis, and collaboration with farmers to improve cotton quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field inspections and collect cotton samples from designated areas.
- Perform cotton classification and grading according to TCB standards.
- Maintain detailed records of classification results and report any issues.
- Provide technical advice to farmers on best practices for cotton cultivation and quality improvement.
- Collaborate with other TCB departments to ensure consistent quality control.
- Participate in training and capacity-building activities for farmers and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on classification activities and findings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field.

2. Position: Procurement Officer – Internship

3. Position: Stores Officer – Internship
Location: Mwanza, Tanzania
Reports to: Stores Manager
The Stores Officer Intern will support the management of inventory and supplies at the Tanzania Cotton Board (TCB). This role involves assisting in receiving, storing, and issuing goods, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring efficient store operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in receiving and inspecting incoming goods.
- Help in organizing and storing inventory in designated areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock counts.
- Support the issuance of goods to various departments and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with storage safety and security procedures.
- Assist in preparing inventory reports and documentation.
Qualifications and Experience:

Holder of a Bachelor degree in any of the following fields: Economics or Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness or Statistics, or Project planning and Management Economics Planning or Planning and Investment or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Duties and responsibilities:
- To assist in issues related to planning and budgeting;
- To assist in planning and control development projects;
- To assist in identifying income generation activities;
- To assist in the preparation of short- and long-term plan and strategies;
- To prepare guidelines for planning and assist in the coordination, preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the strategic plan;
- To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
5. Accountant (2 POSTS)
Duty Station: Mwanza
Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in one of the following fields: Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business Administration majoring in Accountancy or Finance or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
Duties and responsibilities
- To perform periodical cash accounting for each department to ascertain correctness of cash and book balances;
- To carry out examination of financial accounting and supporting documents;
- To evaluate the effectiveness of existing systems of internal control and recommend appropriate improvements; and
- To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his/her Supervisor.
