Following the issuance of a new employment permit with Ref. No. FA.97/288/01/09 dated June 25, 2024, from the Secretary General, Office of the President, Public Service Management and Good Governance, the Executive Director of the Ngorongoro District Council announces job vacancies for qualified and capable Tanzanians to fill the following positions:

1. VILLAGE EXECUTIVE OFFICER GRADE III – (10 POSITIONS)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Authorized officer and chief executive of the village government.
  2. Additionally, supervise the security and safety of citizens and their property, act as a peacekeeper, and oversee good governance in the village.
  3. Furthermore, coordinate and oversee the planning of village development plans.
  4. Moreover, serve as the secretary of all village council meetings and committees.
  5. In addition, interpret and oversee policies, laws, and regulations.
  6. Also, prepare implementation reports of work in the area and motivate citizens in preparing and implementing strategies to eliminate hunger, poverty, and increase wealth production.
  7. Besides, be the leader of the heads of technical units in the village.
  8. Moreover, supervise, collect, and store all village records and documents.
  9. Additionally, act as the chairman of the expert meeting held in the village.
  10. Furthermore, receive, listen to, and resolve citizens’ complaints and conflicts.
  11. Additionally, oversee the drafting of village by-laws.
  12. you are responsible to the Ward Executive Officer.
  13. Finally, perform other duties as assigned by the employer.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should have completed Form Four (Form IV) or Form Six (Form VI) education and possess a diploma/certificate in one of the following fields: Administration, Law, Community Education, Financial Management, Community Development, and Social Sciences from the Local Government Training Institute Hombolo or any other government-recognized institution.

SALARY SCALE: According to the government salary scale, TGS B.

1.2 DRIVER GRADE II – (3 POSITIONS)

DRIVER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Inspect the vehicle before and after trips to determine the vehicle’s safety status.
  2. Transport staff to various locations for official duties.
  3. Perform minor vehicle repairs.
  4. Collect and distribute various documents.
  5. Record and maintain trip information in the trip logbook.
  6. Clean the vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have completed Form Four (Form IV) or Form Six (Form VI) education, possess a valid Class C or E driving license, with at least one year of driving experience without causing accidents. Must have attended basic driving training (Basic Driving Course) offered by VETA or NIT or any other government-recognized institution.

SALARY SCALE: According to the government salary scale, TGS B 1.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged 18 to 45, except those already employed in the government service. Applicants must attach certified copies of their academic and professional certificates, including Form IV and Form VI certificates, and certificates of various training based on the job requirements. Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statement of Results, and Form IV and Form VI result slips WILL NOT be accepted.

Applicants who studied abroad should ensure their certificates are verified and certified by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE). Retired public servants are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary. Applicants who are already employed in entry positions in the public service should not apply and should adhere to the directives in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010.
