Through a new employment permit with Ref. No. FA. 97/288/01/09 dated June 25, 2024, the Nyasa District Council is inviting applications for various positions from Tanzanian citizens. The available positions and their details are as follows:
1. Records Management Assistant II – 5 Positions
Job Responsibilities
- Register incoming letters in the registry.
- Register outgoing letters from the institution.
- Distribute files to executives.
- Receive returned files from executives.
- Retrieve records/files needed by executives.
- Return files to the shelves/cabinets or other storage locations.
- Track file circulation within the institution.
Qualifications
- Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education.
- Must have a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Records Management from a recognized institution.
- Must have computer skills.
Salary Scale: Government Salary Scale – TGS C1 per month.
2. Village Executive III – 20 Positions
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary officer and executive of the Village Government.
- Oversee the protection and safety of citizens and their property.
- Coordinate and manage village development planning.
- Act as the secretary for all village council meetings and committees.
- Interpret and implement policies, laws, and regulations.
- Prepare and submit work performance reports and mobilize residents for development initiatives.
- Chair the village technical experts meeting.
- Manage, collect, and store all village records and documents.
- Chair the village heads of technical departments.
- Receive, listen to, and resolve citizen conflicts.
- Oversee the formulation of village by-laws.
- Report to the Ward Executive.
Qualifications
- Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) education.
- Must have a Certificate or NTA Level 5 in any of the following fields: Administration, Law, Community Education, Financial Management, Community Development, or Arts and Sciences from a recognized institution.
Salary Scale: Government Salary Scale – TGS B1 per month.
3. Driver II – 4 Positions
Job Responsibilities
- Inspect the vehicle before and after the trip to ensure safety.
- Transport employees to various work destinations.
- Perform minor vehicle repairs.
- Collect and distribute various documents.
- Record all trips in the travel logbook.
- Clean the vehicle.
Qualifications
- Must have completed Form Four education.
- Must have a Class C or E driving license and have at least one year of driving experience without causing accidents.
- Must have attended Basic Driving Course training from VETA, NIT, or any other government-recognized institution.
Salary Scale: Government Salary Scale – TGS B1 per month.
4. Office Assistant II – 3 Positions
Job Responsibilities
- Type letters, reports, and both ordinary and confidential documents.
- Receive visitors and assess their needs and direct them to the appropriate office.
- Keep records of appointments, events, visitors, meeting dates, travel schedules, and other tasks.
- Retrieve necessary files and documents for task execution.
- Receive and distribute files to relevant departments.
- Collect, store, and return files to appropriate sections.
- Prepare notes and organize meetings.
- Prepare a list of office equipment needs.
Qualifications
- Must have completed Form Four or Six education.
- Must have a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or an NTA Level 6 Certificate in Secretarial Studies.
- Must have passed 100 words per minute in shorthand for both Swahili and English.
- Must have office computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, Internet, Email, and Publisher from a recognized institution.
Salary Scale: Government Salary Scale – TGS C1 per month.
5. Community Development Assistant II – 8 Positions
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and planning development projects in the area.
- Facilitate the provision and acquisition of training related to development issues.
- Participate in implementing development activities.
- Educate the community about volunteer work.
- Prepare and submit monthly community development reports to the village leadership and supervisor.
- Assist in forming community and development groups.
- Identify and empower poor households to improve their economy using local resources.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must have a Certificate in Community Development from a recognized institution in any of the following fields: Community Development, Sociology, Development Studies, Project Planning and Management, Gender and Development, or Rural Development.
Salary Scale: Government Salary Scale – TGS B1 per month.
General Conditions:
Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45, except for current government employees.
