The Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania is established under Article 62 of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania of 1977. Additionally, Article 88 of the Constitution establishes the Parliamentary Secretariat with the role of enabling the Parliament to fulfill its duties. Based on this, the Parliamentary Secretariat announces job vacancies in various positions to enhance its performance. All Tanzanians with the required qualifications and skills are invited to apply for the positions listed below:
1. ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER GRADE II – 1 POSITION
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee administrative and operational tasks within the institution.
- Supervise the implementation of laws, policies, regulations, and procedures of the institution.
- Identify, analyze, and advise on the needs for office supplies for employees.
- Maintain records of important events of the institution.
- Manage/co-ordinate the issuance of identification badges for employees.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Applicant Requirements:
- Degree from a Government-recognized university in Administration or Public Management.
- Proficiency in computer usage.
Salary Grade: PSS D.
2. ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN GRADE II – 1 POSITION
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect and report technical faults in electrical systems.
- Handle minor technical faults in electrical systems.
- Design and recommend small-scale electrical projects.
- Monitor and verify electrical invoices.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Applicant Requirements:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a Government-recognized institution.
Salary Grade: PSS C.
3. MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN GRADE II – 1 POSITION
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect the quality of vehicles, machinery, and equipment and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Perform minor repairs on vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Prepare technical reports on vehicles, machinery, and equipment and submit to the supervisor.
- Prepare a Preventive Maintenance Plan for vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Applicant Requirements:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a Government-recognized institution.
Salary Grade: PSS C.
4. PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGIST GRADE II – 1 POSITION
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify, prepare, and order medical supplies and equipment for the work area.
- Distribute medicines and medical supplies to patients as directed by the doctor.
- Prepare and mix medicines.
- Store medicines and medical supplies.
- Educate the community on the proper use of medicines.
- Inspect medicines, medical supplies, and equipment in the work area.
- Report adverse effects of medicines.
- Prepare reports on the use of medicines and medical supplies.
- Conduct quality checks on medicines, medical supplies, and equipment.
- Conduct inspections in storage areas for medicines.
- Maintain records of medicines and medical supplies.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Applicant Requirements:
- Three-year Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a Government-recognized Health College.
- Registered with the Pharmacy Council and hold a valid work license.
Salary Grade: TGHS B.
5. DENTAL THERAPIST GRADE II – 1 POSITION
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat common oral and dental diseases.
- Fill and extract teeth.
- Participate in planning and implementing Basic Health Services.
- Maintain records of dental equipment and tools.
- Maintain records, prepare, and provide implementation reports.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Applicant Requirements:
- Diploma in Dental Therapy from a Government-recognized institution.
- Registered with the Medical Council and hold a valid work license.
Salary Grade: TGHS B.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL APPLICANTS:
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be Tanzanian citizens aged not more than 45 years.
- Must attach a birth certificate.
Current Public Service Employees:
- Those applying for different positions should submit their application letters to their employers for approval.
- Employees applying for entry-level positions should adhere to instructions in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010.
Application Submission:
- Attach a detailed CV with reliable contact information, three trustworthy referees, and a recent passport-sized photo.
- Include certified copies of academic certificates (Form Four and Six certificates, Degree, Advanced Diploma, Ordinary Diploma, Basic Certificates, Computer Certificate, and Professional certificates from relevant boards/institutions).
- Result slips for Form Four and Six will not be accepted.
- Include National Identification Number or National ID.
Additional Requirements:
- Certificates from abroad must be verified and accredited by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
- Must not have been convicted of any criminal offense.
- Retired or former Public Service employees must have clearance from the Chief Secretary to apply.
- False information will lead to legal action.
