Matangazo ya Kazi Ajira Portal

USAID T-MELA IBI is seeking two interns for Evaluation and Assessment roles to assist T-MELA’s Evaluation and Assessment Specialists. In this capacity, interns will work closely with interdisciplinary teams, handle data organization, and support evaluation data collection logistics. This role presents a unique opportunity to develop technical and organizational skills, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain practical experience in the development sector. Ideal candidates should be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and have a background in data management, social research, program evaluation, or related fields.

RESPONSIBILITIES

SCHEDULING AND COORDINATION

  • Arrange meetings, interviews, and sessions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure tasks run smoothly.
  • Coordinate project activities with T-MELA staff.

DATA MANAGEMENT

  • Gain experience in data collection and logistical support.
  • Assist in organizing and categorizing collected data for easy access.
  • Contribute to developing data collection tools and methods.
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance during data collection.
  • Assist with survey programming as needed.
  • Learn both quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques.

REPORT AND DOCUMENT PREPARATION

  • Transcribe audio recordings.
  • Maintain and update interview and activity schedules.
  • Assist in preparing field reports by compiling data and drafting initial versions for review.
  • Support fieldwork activities such as enumerator training and data collection.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Data Management, Social Research, Project Management, Public Administration, Sociology, or related areas. Master’s degree students in Monitoring and Evaluation preferred.
  • Experience in at least two assessments, surveys, evaluations, or similar data collection and management activities.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel, Word, and Teams).
  • Familiarity with data tools and project management software is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and solve problems.

PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR

  • Collaborate effectively with diverse teams and adapt to changes.
  • Open to feedback, ethical in conduct, and respect confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Tanzanian government structures is advantageous.

SUPERVISION

The intern will receive technical supervision from the Task Lead – Evaluation and Assessment.

LOCATION

Dar Es Salaam, at the USAID T-MELA office.
